Below you will find information about using the Prescription Scanning functionality within Rx 365.

Setting up the Hardware.

To install the Quomo webcam,

  • Connect the USB cable into the back of the camera, and then connect the other end of the cable into a USB port on the computer.

Note Windows Update should automatically install the required driver for this model.

  • Open the scanner by unfolding it while upright.
  • Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu, and then click the gear icon that appears above the power icon.
  • Navigate to Privacy/Camera (under ‘App permissions’ on the left) and make sure that the option ‘Allow apps to access your camera’ is enabled.

You should now be able to access the webcam in Touchstore Rx.

Create Prescription Scan

To create a prescription scan in Rx 365, start by selecting the script you want to add the prescription scan for.

Note - Ensure you have choosen the first drug dispensed if more than one drug on the script.

  • Open the TouchStore Webcam, if it is not open, Place the image to be captured under the webcam.

Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N) - or click the View Scan Button located at the bottom of the PMR.

Capture Image

  • Allow screen to auto focus, Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N) or click Snap,
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + S) or click Save,
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + C) or click Close
  • This will capture the image and store it against the drug selected.

  • Click on close and you will be brought in to the patient's PMR.

Capture Image(s)

  • Allow screen to auto focus,
  • Press Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N ) and (KEYBOARD: ALT + S ) or click New and Snap
  • Place new image under the webcam, allow it to auto focus
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N) or click New,
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N) or click Snap
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + S) or click Save,
  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + C) or click Close
  • This will capture the images and store it against the drug selected.

  • Click on close and you will be brought in to the patient's PMR.

Other Functionality

  • Selected Device - This is the default scanner the Rx is using to take the picture.
  • Resolution - The resolution can be changed if the image resolution is too small or too big for the image being captured.
  • Snap - ALT & N - takes the picture.
  • Rotate - only becomes available after you have snapped an image.
  • Save - ALT & S - Saves the image
  • Load - Allows you to find an image saved on your computer to save it.
  • Scan - Only used if you are using a Kodak Scanner or similar device.
  • Set Scanner - Allows to select which should be the default scanner if you had more than one scanner connected to the computer.

View scan attached to script

To view an image attached to a script,

  • Highlight the dispense on which you see an image icon.

  • Press (KEYBOARD: ALT + N) or click on View Scan, from here you will be able to view the already existing image(s)

From this screen we can do the following,

  • Delete Selecting Delete will delete the attached scan
  • Prev Selecting previous will show the previous image
  • Next Selecting Next will shoe the next image

Note Previous and Next will only highlight if multiple scans are present

  • New Selecting New will open the add a new scan page
  • Rotate Selecting Rotate will rotate the image
  • Zoom In Selecting Zoom In will alow the image to be enlarged
  • Zoom Out Selecting Zoom out will allow the image to be made smaller
  • Print Selecting Print will allow the saved scan to be printed
  • Export Selecting Export will allow the user the export the saved scan
  • Close Selecting Close will allow the user to return the the patients PMR
