Tasks

My Day allows you to set up Tasks for a Staff Member or the Store as a whole to keep track of work that needs to be carried out. This might be a task for the Store to send the evening order to your main wholesaler every day or it might be a task for a specific Staff Member to run a particular report each week.

Below you will find steps on how to work with Tasks in My Day.

- Creating a new Task

  • My Day can be used as a task planner much like Outlook, Gmail or most other task scheduling applications.
  • To create a task select the plus + icon located on the right-hand side of the My Day screen.
  • This brings up the Create Task dialogue.

myday

The following fields need to be filled out:

  • Description: A short description of the Task
  • Due Date: A future date that the task must be completed by. If this is going to be a recurring task the date should correspond with the day the task should be started.
  • Schedule: when /If the task should repeat
  • Never
  • Daily
  • Once you are happy with all of the details press the Save Task button and the task will now be created.

- Task Types

There are two types of task in My Day:

  1. Store
    • This task is for everyone in the store. Once any staff member marks this task as complete it will not show on My Day for any other staff member. An example might be to send a particular order, take out bins, send claim, etc...
  2. Personal
    • Personal tasks are for you only. They must be marked as completed by you and no one else. It is possible that a task is given to two or more people in the same store but this task must be completed by both staff members. Personal tasks can be created by you for other staff members - this can be particularly useful if you need to leave jobs for a Locum to do on a day you are not in the store yourself.

- Working with Tasks

All Tasks that are scheduled for the current day are listed in the Tasks section.

Here you will see:

  • When the Task is going to be due
    • Overdue tasks show their due date in red
    • Upcoming tasks show their due date in green
  • Whether the Task is for the Store or a Personal task for just one staff member
  • Buttons to allow you to view / edit / delete / complete the task
