What is FMD?

The Touchstore FMD Application allows the pharmacist to verify the authenticity of a product by scanning the 2D barcode on the medicine packs.

Each 2D barcode contains a Product Code, Serial Number, Expiry Date and a Batch or Lot Number.

When the barcode is scanned the above information is checked with the IMVS to see if it is a valid Serial Number, or if it is marked as previously dispensed, recalled or expired.
